One of the machines we use is a ball mill. A ball mill is a long tube closed on either side that rotates at 20 RPM with chrome metal balls inside. The mineral is fed from one side of the ball mill and then the chrome balls break down the mineral to any specific size you may require. Once it has reached its specific size it comes out on the other side of the mill.
